HON. BERNARD S. SELBER (Ret.)
Judge Selber was appointed to the Los Angeles Superior Court in 1965, where he served in virtually every department of the Court. From 1981-1982, Judge Selber served as Judge of the Santa Monica Superior Court, where he also served as Supervising Judge of the Court; Judge of the Los Angeles Municipal Court, 1961-1965. He has presided over more than 2,000 cases and developed a reputation as a skilled mediator. He has particular expertise in settling personal injury, construction defects, employment and labor law, medical malpractice and business disputes.
EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALTIES
In private practice, Judge Selber was a name partner in the law firm of Sax and Selber, where he practiced all areas of civil litigation. As a Judge, he has presided over cases concerning commercial law, real estate, construction defects business torts, personal injury, and employment law. He is extremely active as an arbitrator and mediator and he is frequently requested to preside over settlement conferences and discovery disputes.
