HON. LEIGHTON HATCH (Ret.)

Judge Leighton served as Judge of the Sacramento Municipal Court, 1973-1989. He was Director, California Department of Consumer Affairs 1969-1971 and Director of California Office of Administrative Hearings, 1967-1969.

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALTIES

In private practice, Judge Hatch was a trial lawyer engaged in all areas of civil litigation. As a Judge, he presided over a full spectrum of legal issues, including such fields as commercial law, personal injury, toxic torts, professional liability, health care, environmental law, family law and consumer warranty matters. Former trial attorney for Southern Pacific Company and Western Pacific Railroad Company. He served as Colonel, Judge Advocate General's Corps, U.S.A.R., 1967-1989. Currently, Judge Hatch is frequently assigned by the Judicial Council of California to preside over civil cases as a Superior Court Judge in Northern California.

SPECIAL HONORS AND MEMBERSHIPS

Member, California Judges' Association, 1973-present. Past President, National Council on Occupational Licensing. Former Professor of Law at College of Marin. He received the Bronze Star, Air Medal, for service in the U.S. Army.
