HON. THOMAS M. CREHAN (Ret.)

Magistrate Crehan served as a United States Magistrate Judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, 1971-1994.

EXPERIENCE

As a practicing attorney for 22 years, Magistrate Crehan specialized in maritime law, corporate and business law, environmental, administrative and international law. He served as a general counsel to the Fisherman’s Association of San Pedro, 1987-1994. He has appeared before various federal, state and local administrative agencies in matters regarding maritime and natural resource law, food and drug and international trade.

As a Magistrate Judge, he presided over maritime law litigation and arbitration in matters involving marine property, charter party contracts, collisions, commercial transactions, insurance coverage, maritime lien claims, mortgage foreclosures and vessel acquisition and financing; Corporate and business law litigation in areas of corporate and business formation, operation, finance and reorganization; Environmental law litigation in matters involving air quality, endangered species, food safety, hazardous substances, natural resources, oil pollution and water quality.
